George Hulene
Senior Lecturer, Coventry University
George Hulene has been working in academia since 2011, starting as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and progressing to Associate Professor in Finance and Associate Dean of Faculty of Business and Law at Coventry University in 2022 where he currently looks after just under 9,900 students. He is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and throughout the almost 12 years, he has been developing degree and post-graduate programmes at universities in Tanzania, Mauritius and Malaysia alongside the work at Coventry University. In addition to these countries, he has been teaching in the US, China and Hong Kong as well.
His research expertise is in Corporate Governance in particular in the UK Banking sector, teaching topics such as Corporate Finance, Governance, Risk Management, Financial Derivatives to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Outside of academia, George is on the World University Ranking Advisory Board and have also won a research bid more recently, funded by the UK Quality Assurance Agency. In this project, he lead a team of 11 universities in our investigation of ‘changes in student expectations and experience post pandemic’.
